Location and Parking

The church is located at 4620 California Street (between 8th and 9th Avenues) in the Richmond District of San Francisco (zip code 94118).

We are 3 minutes driving from the Golden Gate Bridge, 40 blocks from Ocean Beach, 5 blocks east of Park Presidio Blvd., 1 block south of Mountain Lake Park and Presidio National Park, and 6 blocks north of Golden Gate Park. And we are 1 block north of the multi-cultural scene that is Clement Street - if you're planning to come to St. James - schedule a lunch or dinner there!

Parking can be tough in our neighborhood. Take a bus if you can: Muni's #1 California Bus stops right in front of the church and the #44 O'Shaughnessy stops two blocks away. We do have limited parking available for Sunday services and for selected special events two blocks from St. James at the George Peabody Elementary School Parking Lot, on 7th Ave between Clement and California. If you have questions about whether parking is provided for a particular event please call the office at (415) 751-1198.

If you plan to park on the street, please do remember that 2 hour residential parking rules are in force Mon-Fri, 9am to 6pm.
