St. James is a joyful, inclusive community.
We are joyful. Christianity is about good news – the good news of a dynamic, embracing love at the heart of reality that we call “God.” We enjoy playing together as well as praying together. You are invited to pray and play with us.
We are inclusive. You are welcome here just as you are. You don't have to change in order to be loved: but, being loved, we will change and grow in ways we never could have anticipated.
We are community. We entrust ourselves to the care of God and each other. We share the inevitable bumps in life’s path, and together make the way smooth. We try to be humble in accepting our need and generous in offering our gifts.
We are St. James. We are a Christian congregation of the Episcopal variety, with more than 300 members and friends. While many of us were raised Episcopalian, most of us were not: we were something else or not religious at all, religiously speaking. Some of us are orthodox believers, some are seekers, some are agnostics; none of us has all the answers. All of us are struggling with the questions of faith, drawn by the mystery in which we live and move and have our being.
And we are put on earth for a little space
That we may learn to bear the beams of love
- William Blake
